Data recording
In order to work with Phoenix receivers, SD cards need to be 64GB or larger and they can be used as they purchased, no need to format them in a special way for data recording. The cards should come formatted as ExFAT from the factory, which is the format required by the MTU-5C family. Phoenix equipment does not support 32 GB or smaller SD cards for data recording.
In case the card is full, we recommend erasing files over formatting.
We recommend using the same model of card shipped with your system. If not possible, at least use rugged SDXC SD cards, weather proof, capable of running from -30C to 85C, and that support transfer speeds of 80MB/s or higher. One recommended model is SanDisk Gold Extreme Plus 64GB.
OS upgrade
The OS upgrade is a special task for the MTU-5C family of receivers. In this case, an SD card <= 32 GB, as formatted from the factory (i.e. FAT format) is needed for OS upgrades. If a card used for normal recordings is used for an OS upgrade, the OS upgrade will not proceed.
